DWD was founded in 1974 by Winston Chin (international marketer) and David Wilhelm (mechanical engineer). Led by Chin’s global vision, new business was sought across the seas, from the Gulf of Mexico to South America, Indonesia and the Coast of Africa.
DWD’s mission was to focus on fulfilling the growing need for explosion-proof and corrosion resistant equipment for saliferous, offshore applications. Over time, Wilhelm’s business acumen and Chin’s targeted marketing took the business from a 2000-square-foot facility to over 60,000 square feet of multiple facilities.
Winston Amador Chin (Winston Chin’s son) has taken his father’s place as Vice President and Gerald W. Scott presently serves as President.
Chin, who received a marketing degree from Texas A&M, has been with DWD since 1999. Today, he is expanding his father’s vision and marketing expertise.
Scott, with a degree in engineering from the University of Texas, brings more than 30 years of construction and business management experience to DWD.
